RED CLOVER
Trifolium pratease

Blooms from May until July.
It is used as an infusion /add 5 gr. to 100 ml of water/ to comfort coughs and bronchitis; also has laxative properties.
This herb is widely spread south of Recreational house Edelweiss.

WHITE ELECAMPANE
Inula helenium

Blooms from July until August with beautiful large yellow blossoms resembling those of the sun flower.
The roots are used when dug out in March or October.
Relieves coughing and comforts inflammations of the mucosa. It is used for bronchitis, colds and flu, for throat-wash against toothache and sore throat.
Boil 1 spoonful of chopped roots in 0, 5 l of water for 10 min. Drink 1 cup 4 times a day.
This herb can be found around the Dyado Georgi fountain.

OX TONGUE
Scolo pendrium

It is gathered at the end of September and October when the spores of the upper part of the leaves become brown.
Leave infusion helps clear the throat and stops bleeding. Suitable for all types of cough and liver diseases; relieves the pain of angina pectoris.
Soak 1 spoonful of the herb in 400 ml of boiling water for 1 hour. Take 1 wineglass 3 times a day.
The herb grows on the rocks southeast from the meadow.

WHITE LADY’S BEDSTRAW
Galium aparine

Blooms from May until June. Use the stem during the bloom.
Part of the herb clears the kidneys, the liver, the pancreas and the spleen. Maria Treben strongly recommends it against thyroid diseases.
Soak 1 teaspoon of the herb in 1 l of water for 1 hour. Take three cups a day of freshly prepared tea.
The herb is spread mostly behind the old chalet.

NETTLE
Urtica dioica

Use the leaves, the stem and the roots. The leaves and the stems are gathered from May until September. The roots are dug out in September.
Infusion of nettle is used against kidney and urinary sand. The nettle is the best mean for blood purification and feeding of the blood. Reduce the level of blood sugar.
Soak 1 teaspoon in 1 l of water and take 3 freshly prepared cups per day.
The herbs grows in bulks between the meadow and Ispolin Peak /on the side of the road, in the woods/.

CRANE’S BILL
Geranium macrorrhizum

Blooms from April until August. Use the entire stem and upper part, gathered during bloom.
Its leaves are used against diarrhea and stomach aches. Helps reduce high blood pressure.
The herb is spread all over the woods around the meadow.

TUTSAN
Hynericum perforatum

Blooms from June until August. Used the stalk and blossoms.
It is one of the most commonly used herbs. It has anti-bacterial properties, heals wounds and relieves. Use against kidney and gall sand.
Boil 2 soup spoonfuls in 0,5 l of water for 5 minutes. Drink 1 cup 4 times a day before eating.
The herb is spread in the humid parts of the meadow

BLACKBERRY
Rubus fruticosus

Use the leaves and the fruit gathered in nice sunny weather from June until September. It has constipating properties and is used against diabetics. Take fruits against cold and inflammation of the respiratory tract.
Soak 2 soup spoonfuls of leaves with 0, 5 l of boiling water for 1 hour. Take the infusion in 1 wineglass 4 times a day.
The herb is spread all over the woods around the meadow. Greater amounts can be found on the southeast of it.

MULLEIN
Verbascum phlomoides

Blooms from June until September. Gather the blossoms during bloom in dry weather only after the evaporation of the morning dew. It has a nice fragrance and tastes sweet.
Use against dry cough, bronchitis and hoarse voice.
Soak 1 soup spoonful of blossom in 300 ml of boiling water for 1 hour. Take 1 wineglass sweetened with honey 3 times a day.
The herb can be found all over the meadow.

YELLOW PRIMROSE
Primula officinalis

Blooms from April until the end of May. Use the entire plant. Blossoms and leaves are gathered during bloom. Roots are dug out in March or in the autumn.
It clears throat and lungs perfectly and relieves pain. The leaves have high content of vitamin C. The herb has a nice fragrance.
Soak 1 soup spoonful of blossom or leaves in 300 ml of water for 2 hours. Take 1 coffee cup 4 times a day before eating.
The herb grows all over the meadow.

THISTLE
Onopordon acanthium

The blossoms are gathered during bloom from June until August.
It stimulates the secretion of some glands. It stimulates the heart and raises the blood pressure.
The herb is rarely spread south of Recreational house Edelweiss.

THYME
Thimus

Blooms from May until September. Gather the stalks during bloom.
It is used against cough. Prevents gases and has tranquilizing properties. The plant is also used as a spice and as a component in the cosmetic industry.
Soak 2 soup spoonfuls in 0,5 l of boiling water for 2 hours. Sweeten with honey and take 1 wineglass 4 times a day.
The herb can be found all over the meadow in tufts.

NUTMEG
Filipendula hexapetala

Blooms from June until August. Use the blossoms and the roots. The blossoms are gathered together with the stalks and are used as an infusion.
It fights and protects from inflammations. Helps the excretion of urine and rheumatism. Use roots for bathing.
The herb grows almost all over the meadow.

Euphrasia officinalis

Use the stalks gathered during bloom in July and August.
It stimulates the stomach and the guts against acid and gall disorders. It is recommended against inflammation of the eyes, for improvement of the eye sight using tincture for washing.
Boil 2 soup spoonfuls in 0, 5 l of water for 5 minutes. Take 1 wineglass 4 times a day before eating.
The herb grows all over the meadow.

COLT’S FOOT
Tussilago farfara

Blooms early in the spring in March and April. Use the blossoms and the young leaves. The leaves are gathered from June until August.
It clears throat and is used against bronchitis, laryngitis, constriction, tuberculosis and cough.
Soak 1 soup spoonful in 400 ml of boiling water for 1 hour. Take 1 cup 4 times a day.
The herb grows in the beginning of the meadow alongside the road to Gabrovo.

RED GERMANDER
Teucrium chamaedrys

Blooms from June until August. Use the stalks gathered during bloom.
It is used against stomach aches, gases, acids, and eyes washout.
Boil 20 soup spoonfuls in 0,5 l of water for 5 minutes. Take 1 wineglass 4 times a day.
The herb grows all over the meadow.

Betonica officinalis

Use the stalks during bloom from June until September. Use also roots dug out late in the autumn.
It clears throat and stimulates appetite. Use against constriction, dizziness, inflammation of kidneys and bladder.
Soak 1 spoon in 0,5 l of water for 1 hour. Take 1 cup 4 times a day.
The herb grows on the left side of the road to the meadow.

ORCHID
Orhis maculata

Use the corm, dug out during bloom from May until June.
Use for all types of cough.
Mix 1 tea spoonful of ground corm and 1 l of water. Pour 0,3 l of boiling water and boil for 15 minutes. Take 1 coffee cup of the hot infusion sweetened with honey 4 times a day.
The herb grows at the beginning of the meadow.

ELDER
Sambucus nigra

Use blossoms and fruit. Blossoms are gathered before full bloom in June. Fruit ripen in September. Dry fruit in a shady place.
It is an anti-perspirant, laxative and clears throat and lungs during pneumonia and bronchitis.
The herb grows in the woods around the meadow.

VIOLET
Viola tricolor

Use the stem and the upper part gathered during bloom in June and July.
It is an anti-perspirant and a tranquilizer, clears throat and lungs and kidney sands.
Take as an infusion.
The herb grows all over the meadow.

Alhemilla vulgaris

Use the entire plant gathered during bloom from June until August.
It has constipating properties, helps reduce the blood sugar and stimulates the functions of the ovary.
Boil 2 soup spoonfuls in 0,5 l of water for minutes. Take 1 cup 4 times a day before eating.
The herb can be found in the humid parts of the meadow.

WILD STRAWBERRY
Fragaria vesca

Use leaves gathered while they are still green.
It reduces the blood pressure and stimulates the circulation of the blood. Use against kidney and gall sands.
Soak 2 soup spoonfuls in 0,5 l of boiling water for 2 hours. Take 1 wineglass 4 times a day.
The herb grows all over the meadow.

WHITE MILFOIL
Achillea millefolium

Used the blossoms gathered during bloom.
It stimulates appetite and stomach secretion. Use against uterine bleedings, headache and liver disorders. Fresh leaves are used for bandage for wounds.
Soak 2 soup spoonfuls in 0, 5 l. Drink 1 wineglass 4 times a day.
The herb grows in dry places of the meadow.

Genista sagittalis

Use blossom gathered during bloom from June until August.
It raises the blood pressure. It is used as an infusion against rheumatism and podagra.
